This is my updated Zephagamon deck. I have been playing Zephagamon for quite some time now and I have made adjustments according to how my matches have gone. I do not own any MedievalGallantmon which would be a perfect fit for this deck. It was even designed for it. But I do prefer Zephagamon as a digimon. As for the deck itself, I opted for a more control focus than I used to back when I first started. Sure the deck can do heavy damage but it wants to adapt to the matchup it is in much more now. I also altered my ratios a lot overtime. I used to run the starter deck Grandgalemon as my primary level 5. I also used to run four of the EX7 Zephagamon and none of the starter deck one. That was honestly a mistake. I severely underestimated how difficult it was to deal with that card especially with Zephagamon Ace existing. Zephagamon Ace is a massive boost for the deck. Having a level 6 Ace that can also act as a level 7 for the deck is incredible. Even hard playing it for 8 isn't a bad play sometimes. I'd say it is better than MedievalGallantmon is for this deck specifically. The Tamer Lineup is what has changed the most about my build. Previously I used to run 4 of the EX7 Shoto. Now I settled on 3 to run a copy of the Bt20 Shoto which helps me suspend even more cards every turn while also acting as a way of getting back into the game when paired with the delay effects of the options in the deck. The trainings let you go up your stack extremely quickly and extremely cheaply. The scrambles help you recover from your opponents lines while also punishing your opponent hard. The memory boost let you dig deeper into your deck to find your pieces while giving you an extra two memory which can enable certain lines to flow more smoothly. Then there is the rookie lineup which I changed to suit me personally. I may end up running more of the Promo Pteromon in the future but I really like the Muchomon. The extra DP it gives as well as the piercing inherit helps the decks aggression a lot. This deck can struggle dealing with Magnamon X or Gallantmon X without a lot of DP boost. If you have the right setup you can easily go above 20K DP. You can use the Promo Galemon with a 2K DP Inherit and the Muchomon helps add even more. You the pair the line with the structure deck Shoto to make sure your attack can be redirected into the Magnamon X to clear it in battle. As long as you retain your turn which isn't hard due to how memory efficient this deck is, you can then go into lines to bottom deck the stack. You can also use the structure deck Zephagamon to reach even more DP while having effect immunity to help clear it even more. Vortex also lets you bypass the effect immunity for Gallantmon X. The memory gauge isn't on your side anymore if you attack while passing turn. There is just a lot of cool interactions like that which have saved my matches. The deck can be difficult to pilot sometimes as well but I like that about a deck. This is one deck that gets much stronger the more you play it and get better at the game. It grows alongside you as a player. Now back to card choices. The one Argomon is for tamer heavy matchups. Go into that for dirt cheap and stun your opponent. Hurts hybrid decks most. Hybrid decks are pretty hard to deal with sometimes. They don't often leave targets to attack into or suspend. May bump up the number of the card depending on how prevalent they are. The digi-egg is one I'm not set on myself. I like the memory gain from the EX7 Fluffymon but this deck is so memory efficient that it doesn't matter all that often. Then there are a lot of different draw eggs for green but with different conditionals. I opted for the one that draws when I suspend an opponents Digimon. Most of the deck does this so it isn't hard to fulfill especially when evolving up my stack. The on attack one while I have a tamer is extremely easy to fulfill but it being an on attack leaves me open for Ace plays if I am digging for pieces to setup. I play the deck while considering how Aces will impact my plays. I can deal with them in multiple ways but the problem is if I cannot setup in time to prepare for them in advance. If that happens I am dead to rights. That's why I opt for draw eggs that don't require an attack. Unless it is Red Hybrid in which case I really don't care. The starter deck Fluffymon was also considered as an extra way of suspending cards but I wanted the card draw more. So I opted for the egg I chose. Now for the fun part. We know that Zephagamon is getting an Emblem option and a new Level 7. I am curious to see how they impact the deck. It is also very likely we will be getting a new Pteromon line as well but that isn't confirmed. Depending on what the new line does may drastically change the deck. Maybe Zephagamon can break out of the Tier 1.5 jail it's been in since release.
